Homemade Hedgehogs Cages

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Respect and REJECT

I want to keep with the theme of recycling, or rather the theme of rejection of the evil represented by the terrible modern plastic. long been talking about the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, but now are. include Respect and Decline, and the latter is what I bring to the light of day again. I have often written here that we must reject the plastic, but much still to get to have a town or a city or a clean plastic. Every day I see wrapped in plastic garbage in the streets and wonder: when will we learn to reject the plastic? " So today I want to share the efforts of people 100% committed to the task of removing the plastic world, to show that it is possible.

The mission of the Coalition Against Plastic Pollution is "to stop pollution from plastic and toxic impacts on humans, the environment and wildlife around the world "( http://plasticpollutioncoalition.org ). is an organization based in California and aims to raise public awareness about the problem of pollution by plastic, build a global community through a platform "for people and institutions to share resources and coordinate efforts"; BOOST CITIZEN ACTION trained to eliminate the consumption of plastic in all its forms LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT to require employers and government officials to assume their responsibility for handling rejection and plastic; Educating and informing the public the serious threat that plastic poses to their health, and support the Advancement of Science to promote the study of plastic pollution and possible solutions.

I share these goals because they explain what they mean by better words than mine. The message is the same for all citizens, no matter if you're in California or in Cuernavaca or Colchester. The task is the same as the local environment is the one that touches and impacts them and surely is full of junk whose main ingredient is the awful plastic.

There

yes people are moving in this direction and should be welcomed. However, few actually and urges us to join their efforts. An example of two people totally committed to this issue are on a blog called PlasticForever: http://plasticforever.blogspot.com . For 11 years Richard and Judith Selby Lang Lang have been collecting plastic from a beach called Kehoe Beach in California. have noticed the changes and trends in plastic products by the type of litter found and the high amount of certain products in certain moments. trash is worth mentioning that no is caused by visitors to the beach, but across the ocean to bring trash from other parts of the world, including from other countries. This garbage that comes to Kehoe Beach is transformed into sculpture, installation art, photos and even jewelry, thanks to the creativity of the couple Lang and other partners. Through their artwork to the public sent a clear message about the problem of plastic and inspire more people to get involved in the effort. On its website www.beachplastic.com find all the information.

Another example of efforts to get rid of plastic is the blog Plastic is Forever http://plasticisforever.blogspot.com/ , also in California. If some of my readers are teachers or mothers or fathers - or almost all of you who read this column - I invite you to see these posts because they can learn much, and they should share with their students and children. be surprised when they realize all groups and communities, organizations and individuals who have a strong commitment to combat the plastic. This problem belongs to everyone: open your eyes and see that we are surrounded by bags, packaging, cups, plates, toys and pieces of all kinds of plastic and this must end.

Remember: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Respect and, above all, rejection.
