Bilirubin Levels At 1.3

What can we expect from the COP 16 in Cancun? Frozen

In the run up to the COP 15 held in the city of Copenhagen a year ago, the expectation of significant agreements to tackle climate change was extraordinary . However, the results were very disappointing. Instead, the propaganda for the COP 16, which began last week in Cancun was very discreet mostly because the expectations are almost nil. If the delegates who have arrived in Cancun are pessimistic, why come? What I am questioning is the general lack of commitment to reach an agreement that could really make a lasting difference.

Many people who are fighting for a universal policy to combat carbon emissions they think the legal and policy framework promoted by the United Nations is not feasible. If this were the case, what are the alternatives? In the absence of a comprehensive settlement, is it possible to achieve small agreements having the greatest potential? is true that almost all countries organize their own campaigns to reduce carbon emissions, but no programs are alike or that have the same challenges. What is a priority, as many countries, is a financial framework to undertake greater efforts to curb climate change, especially in the case of developing countries.

The first noticeable difference of COP 16 is the absence of world leaders attending the conference. speaks His lack of participation, according to me, his lack of interest and participation in this problem. How concerned should we be? For me it is clear that for the next century life as we know it is not possible for humans. The sad thing is that international negotiations to combat climate change dating back to 1972 but is only now, 40 years later, we are working towards a sustainable life. Even sadder is the level of commitment from individuals, governments, leaders and others who accept directed by commerce and power, not sustainability.

For the success of COP 16 will need to reach agreements the areas of mitigation, technology transfer and financing. Although the picture is difficult, delegates are supposed to be working towards some kind of universal commitment. The financial part is the stumbling block, especially for the times and austerity programs that are currently living. Detonate sufficient investment for the environment is the goal, we cross our fingers that there is a clear result and frank in this area. addition, many governments are primarily concerned with their economies and their competitiveness, which limits them to commit to reducing their carbon emissions.

However, do not lose hope. In Mexico there are many examples of both individuals and companies and institutions that are operating from an ecological conscience and still on track to achieve more. Wind power is a reality in Mexico and there will be more parks, the acceptance of energy saving light bulbs has been very successful, the separation of garbage is gaining strength every day with more people responding to the challenge. have planted millions of trees, literally, all over the country in large reforestation programs. Advances in technology are remarkable, including sustainable construction with the use of alternative energy (solar or wind power) through intelligent buildings. In Mexico City and there are walls and green roofs, full of plants that help to cool buildings in hot weather and make them warmer in cold weather. have developed biodegradable plastic bottles made of substances that have nothing to do with oil. has banned the use of plastic bag in the DF, although the success of this campaign remains weak. There are many ideas, initiatives and efforts and we are seeing some positive results, it is true, but the road is very long: it makes us need to do much, much more. And do not even want to mention the problem of garbage ...

For Mexico, as host of COP 16, the challenge is very strong. is nothing if not many initiatives are being opened these days to show the world that Mexico is working with sustainability in mind. is a pity that we have not begun in the 70's, but at least our efforts today are remarkable and newsworthy.

is time to put aside personal and selfish interests and act in support of citizenship and overall survival. The blame for our current situation we have it all and that is why we need to be more aware, creative and adaptable. hope that something positive is achieved in Cancun - I wish with all my heart - but in the worst case we must not lose sight of everything we are doing, what we have done and what we have to keep doing. Clearly urges us to continue with our individual efforts, which increase in importance a little more each day. If the COP 16 could make a difference in how people think, would be a great achievement. There are still too many ignorant people who believe to change our way of life is neither necessary nor possible. are very wrong.

Unbearable Pain After Tooth Extraction

Britain / Great Britain under snow

For us here in Mexico it's hard to imagine the incredible Amount Being of snow dumped on the British Isles, and so early in the year too. In Cancun at the COP 16 They Are in the boiling sun and Discussing climate chan ge . Here's the proof. Are the photos taken from Scotland by my brother and from Sussex Much Further south by a close friend.

For us in Mexico is difficult to imagine the enormous amount of snow that covered the Great Britain has also since November. In Cancun, we have what s COP 16 delegates enjoying (or suffering!) The sun and heat. They are discussing the changes climate change, what happens in the UK and across Europe is proof. Enjoy the pictures taken by my brother in Scotland and a friend in Sussex.

Ten things you do NOT need to live

recently occurred to me to carry out an interesting exercise. an email I sent to 41 people at random, friends, colleagues and acquaintances, requesting their participation to share a list of 10 things not deemed necessary for life. should not have been such a difficult task, but perhaps it was. Why? Because decide to change a habit and rule out something important in your life to reduce your consumption energy and improve your carbon footprint implies a decisive and final action. Let results and draw some conclusions.

first consider that only 16 people answered me. Are they to whom you really care the problem of climate change already operating from an ecological perspective? We assume that the other 25 people did not have time to answer or maybe you do not care about ecological issues. That we can not know.

The second important point is that only 3 of 16 responses contained 10 proposals, almost all listed between 2 and 8 ideas. Again, we can conclude that rule up to 10 things in her life was a challenge too strong. However, I prefer to think that most have ruled so much of their lives that they no longer have 10 more ... not know if that is true.

now consider the proposals. Remember is a list of things NOT need to live. First comes the clothes dryer with 5 votes. As one friend, we are blessed with warm days in Cuernavaca, with sunshine almost every day of the year then the clothes dry on the line without any problems. The clothes dryer uses both electricity and gas, resulting in a large consumer of energy. is an excellent proposal. Second comes the microwave oven with 4 votes and I'm sure many of us could say goodbye without much remorse. are tied with 3 votes hair dryer, electric coffeemaker, television and the press of hair. is a very interesting little list because it includes television. I wonder if these 3 people really achieved live without a television at home, since this is a strong commitment.

With 2 votes each come after the water heater (boiler), game console X-box type, car, toaster, washing machine, water bottles, iron and bags plastic. is also an interesting list because it includes the car, which I find very challenging. other hand, how sad that more people have not been included in their lists plastic bags and bottles of water, we know how critical the problem of plastic polluting the land and oceans.

Notable among the other proposals, but only one vote, are the electric toaster oven, heater, blender, electric kettle, cell phone, blender, fabric softener, the bottles of water, air conditioning, Christmas lights, the vacuum, the non-biodegradable cleaners, bleach for clothes, Styrofoam cups and plates ...

thank the 16 people who answered the challenge and I hope I have contributed a little awareness among them, in order to achieve a style greener life. Discard things do not really need to live will help a lot in the urgent task of reducing our energy consumption, which is a of the main issues on the table of the COP 16 held in Cancun from 29 November until 10 December when the world's eyes will be focused on Mexico.

essential part of the shared vision of the countries participating in the Forum is that "should make every effort to achieve the goal ... concerning the stabilization of the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which also includes a commitment by Mexico to "limit the emissions of greenhouse gases to levels that prevent an increase in temperature above 2 ° C ." To do so is clearly a need "to broaden and strengthen the participation of civil society," then I suggest you make your own list of ten things you DO NOT need to live and be doing your part.

Let us be very aware of the agreements resulting from the COP 16, as it certainly will affect your life and your children and your grandchildren.
